Friendships
"Kids Find That Fishing Builds
Friendships" is the result of a five phase study from a research group
that received a grant from the US Fish and Wildlife Service. At FishinPals
we could of told them that without having to receive a half million
dollar grant. We have seen friendships nurtured by the kids and adults.
Even those who come to an event and do not fish end up building
friendships. Fishing is a way of getting together with friends and
relax. Although we often have a derby were kids and adults compete for
prizes the spirit of competition is not there. The kids seem to be just
as excited for those who may catch the most or biggest as if they had
done it themselves. We have seen this more than once at a FishinPals event. At FishinPals there is always a safe inviroment for kids and adults.
Fellowship
Fellowship
is enjoyed by all. Kids will often get together to fish as well as the
adults. Many will find a shady spot under tree or a pavillion to spend
some time sharing with each other. Many come just to spend time
fellowshipping with others and to watch the kids have fun. Food is
always a part of a FishinPals event. Many bring something to share with our usual hot dogs. At times we wiil have fish or bar-b-q.
Memories
Memories
are built at a FishinPals events. It has been said that children share
more of their fishing memories than anyother when they grow into
adulthood. Fishing with dad, mom, whole family, grandparents, and
friends have a lasting effect. Like many of you I have wonderful
memories from my childhood from fishing with my friends and later with
my children and Janet. I also have many great memories since being
involved in FishinPals.
Good Plain Fun
Fun can be had by all at FishinPals.
Even if you don't have fishing equipment we will loan you all you need.
Another thing is that you are not required to have a Illinois fishing
license. We have received an exemption from the IDNR. Good plain fun at
very little cost.
Youth/Adult Interaction
"Silly rabitt, Trix are for kids." Trix may be just for kids but FishinPals
is for people of all ages. We encourage adults to come and many do. At
times there is just as many adults as children. We do require that kids
under 16 have an adult sponsor. Many of the adults who are involved
with FishinPals will often bring other kids with them.
Building Relationships
FishinPals
is a Christian Ministry that started seven years ago with an idea to
reach out to adults and children through the sport of fishing. We do have a devotion before lunch is served. We
are here to answer your questions concerning your relationship with our
Heavenly Father. Jesus said - For where two or three are gathered together in My name, there I am in their midst - Matt 18:20
We have seen Him at FishinPals
many, many times. If you think that you can only see Him on Sundays you
are being deprived of many blessings. We encourage you to grow in your
relationship with our Father through His Son Jesus. We hope that you
and your loved ones will become all they can be though Him. That's the
focus of FishinPals.
FishinPals does not charge for its events. Donations are accepted.
