FishinPals Fishing Faith Fellowship

2013

FishinPals is beginning its 12th year of holding fishing events for children and adults. We invite families and individuals to attend any of events and there is NO Fishing License Required while attending any of our events. Fishing is a main part of our events but fellowship and food are also enjoyed while spending time in God's great outdoors Feel free to invite a friend or two and be sure to let them know that a fishing license is not required. We also have some loaner poles for those who may need them. This year we hope to sponsor a couple fishing tournaments for bass and catfish. Information about these will be posted at a later date and also advertised. Hope to see ya at a FishinPals event and we hope you have a Great New Year enjoying God's Blessings. (Maybe one of them will be a fish of a lifetime)

FishinPals is an unique ministry using the sport of fishing to "take the church outside the walls". FishinPals began in 2001 with the idea of bringing fellowship outside the walls of church buildings into God's great creation. The ministry is not affiliated with any domination (organization) or local church (organization).
Since the beginning FishinPals has helped others to begin their "outside the walls" ministry and has been helped by many. There are many ways to get the church "outside the walls", it's just that FishinPals uses the sport of fishing.

Why
FishinPals?

Friendships

"Kids Find That Fishing Builds Friendships" is the result of a five phase study from a research group that received a grant from the US Fish and Wildlife Service. At FishinPals we could of told them that without having to receive a half million dollar grant. We have seen friendships nurtured by the kids and adults. Even those who come to an event and do not fish end up building friendships. Fishing is a way of getting together with friends and relax. Although we often have a derby were kids and adults compete for prizes the spirit of competition is not there. The kids seem to be just as excited for those who may catch the most or biggest as if they had done it themselves. We have seen this more than once at a FishinPals event. At FishinPals there is always a safe environment for kids and adults.

Fellowship
Fellowship is enjoyed by all. Kids will often get together to fish as well as the adults. Many will find a shady spot under tree or a pavilion to spend some time sharing with each other. Many come just to spend time in fellowship with others and to watch the kids have fun. Food is always a part of a FishinPals event. Many bring something to share with our usual hot dogs. At times we will have a fish fry.

Memories
Memories are built at a FishinPals events. It has been said that children share more of their fishing memories than any other when they grow into adulthood. Fishing with dad, mom, whole family, grandparents, and friends have a lasting effect. Like many of you I have wonderful memories from my childhood from fishing with my friends and later with my children and Janet. I also have many great memories since being involved in FishinPals.

Good Plain Fun
Fun can be had by all at FishinPals. Even if you don't have fishing equipment we will loan you all you need. Another thing is that you are not required to have a Illinois fishing license. We have received an exemption from the IDNR. Good plain fun at very little cost.

Youth/Adult Interaction
"Silly rabitt, Trix are for kids." Trix may be just for kids but FishinPals is for people of all ages. We encourage adults to come and many do. At times there is just as many adults as children. We do require that kids under 16 have an adult sponsor. Many of the adults who are involved with FishinPals will often bring other kids with them.

Building Relationships
FishinPals is a Christian Ministry that started with an idea to get the church "outside the walls"to reach out to adults and children through the sport of fishing. We do have a devotion before lunch is served. We are here to answer your questions concerning your relationship with our Heavenly Father. Jesus said - For where two or three are gathered together in My name, there I am in their midst - Matt 18:20
We have seen Him at FishinPals many, many times. If you think that you can only see Him on Sundays you are being deprived of many blessings. We encourage you to grow in your relationship with our Father through His Son Jesus. We hope that you and your loved ones will become all they can be though Him. That's the focus of FishinPals.

There is never a charge for attending the events. Donations are accepted

What You Will Experience At A FishinPals Event
At our events you meet some very friendly people who share in the same interest of fishing. They also like to share stories with each other and might just joke around a little about there fishing skills. They also will share fishing info about the place you are fishing and will do everything they can to help you and all the kids catch fish. You will also meet some who may not fish but just come for the fellowship and watching everyone catch fish especially the kids and to help in any way they can. You also will experience some great food that is brought by those attending. You can feel free to bring a side item to share since we always have food after the fishing. Usually we have grilled hot dogs, which is supplied by FishinPals, and once in awhile we will have a fish fry. At all our events we give away prizes of various items which mostly are fishing tackle. There is normally a few drawings for items to be given away to the adults. Everyone goes home with something. Most of all we hope everyone goes home with memories of having a good time. You might just go home with the catch of a lifetime.
